Anytime you have a paver patio or pathway installed that is not surrounded by concrete it requires a restraint to help keep the pavers in line.  At Greenlife Gardens, we use a reinforced plastic edging shaped in a 90* corner that butts up against the pavers and is nailed down into the ground around it.  Freeze and thaw cycles in our weather will cause edging products to heave. In some cases, if the ground is soft, one can hammer down the edging.  Sometimes the heaving is significant enough to cause permanent damage to the restraint or the nails have worn down over time.  This repair will need some replacement parts and a little more time to correct.
